Trees:
(1) Types of people, in varying states of righteousness, who attract other people to them (either in their shade or on their branches) because of their knowledge, teaching abilities, etc. A tree planted near water (knowledge) would be green, for example.

Psalms 1:1-3 - Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Isaiah 61:3 - To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

  • Example prophecy: "But Jesus turning unto them said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry?" (Luke 23:28-31)

Vine:

Psalms 80:14-15 - Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts: look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine; And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madest strong for thyself.

John 3:5-8 - Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Wrath of God:
(1) Personal: The natural result of sin. If a person smokes, for example, cancer or heart disease may be called the wrath of God against that person. Yet God had nothing to do with it. (2) The national or tribal wrath of sinful people, in warfare visited on others either because of the desire to oppress or the desire to free from oppression. In personal situations visited upon one another for any number of reasons - which we consider right or wrong as humans. (3) Natural catastrophies, weather phenomenons, etc.. (4) Conviction of conscience for sins we know we've commited or allowed, in this case, the 'wrath' we feel from God is our repentence. (5) Revelation: Love.

[Important Note: God is Love: God is Truth. God takes responsibility for all of our wrath. God loves all, good and evil, while helping us with the good things we pray for, he cannot do evil. We, on the other hand, many times choose to do evil using the good things He gives us. We can even do evil without choosing to do evil, because we cannot see how something we do that we think is good may reverberate elsewhere.]

Examples of God being assigned the wrath of men from the Bible:

Ephesians 5:5-6 - For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Psalms 90:11 - Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.

Romans 13:4 - For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

Psalms 88:6-8 - Thou hast laid me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the deeps. Thy wrath lieth hard upon me, and thou hast afflicted me with all thy waves. Selah. Thou hast put away mine acquaintance far from me; thou hast made me an abomination unto them: I am shut up, and I cannot come forth.

Examples of God taking responsibility Himself for man's wrath:

Isaiah 54:7-8 - For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

Isaiah 10:6 - I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

Jeremiah 7:29 - Cut off thine hair, O Jerusalem, and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on high places; for the LORD hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.

Hosea 13:11 - I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
